Guidelines for coming to appointments

With yet another change to restrictions from 27th January 2022 I have once again updated these guidelines for attending appointments at both of my practices.

I am very mindful of my responsibility to keep my clients, my fellow therapists and myself as safe as possible, both in limiting the risk of transmission and in avoiding any unnecessary need to self-isolate.

I would be grateful if you could read this information before coming to your appointment and agree to abide by the guidance set out. As always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

Things you need to know when coming for an appointment

-As before, it is important that you don’t attend an appointment if:
  1. You are showing any symptoms of Covid-19: a cough, a raised temperature or a loss of taste or smell.
  2. If you have recently been in contact with anyone who has symptoms or has tested positive.
  3. If you have been asked to self-isolate.
Please let me know as soon as possible, if any of these apply, and we will re-schedule your appointment. It is of course up to you if you feel comfortable coming in if you are in a vulnerable group, or living with someone in that group. Please rest assured that I am doing all I can to minimise any risk and I am continuing to offer online sessions if you need some help and support but prefer not to come in at the moment.

-If you are able to do a lateral flow test before coming in that would be very much appreciated.

-Unless required for support please do not bring anyone with you to your appointment.

-Upon arrival please use the hand sanitiser, (outside at The Old School House and in reception at The Therapy Centre).

-You will continue to need to wear a mask throughout your time at either of my practices. Complimentary disposable face masks are available.

-Please bring your own water bottle with you.

-The toilets will be available to use.

-Please don’t arrive early for your appointment. It reduces numbers in the premises and gives me time to clean and air the room between appointments.

-If you are late to your appointment the time will not be able to be extended. This is to allow me enough time to clean and air the room between appointments.

-For new clients, if you haven't booked online and filled out a form when booking, I will endeavour to arrange a time for a short phone consultation (15-20 minutes) before your session. This is to allow as much time as possible for the treatment during your session. There is no extra charge for this.

Payments and Cancellation Policy

-It is appreciated if you could arrange to pay for your session when you book or prior to your appointment. You can pay when you book online or if I book your session, you will receive a confirmation email with my bank details for a BACS transfer. If you prefer to pay by card, I can send you a card payment link.

-Appointments will currently be charged for at full price if cancelled with less than 24-hours notice or at half price with less than 48-hours notice. I hope you will appreciate that it is usually very difficult to fill cancelled sessions at very short notice. Payment for sessions cancelled due to the unexpected onset of COVID-19 symptoms will be carried forward to your next appointment.

- All current prices can be found on the Prices Page of my website.

Other things to help

-Along with the measures mentioned above the following have been done at both practices:

-I have updated the risk assessments and implemented changes where necessary.

-All communal areas and the treatment rooms will be cleaned after each person has visited.

-We will minimise the contact you have with door handles and other potential frequent touch surfaces as far as possible.

-Couch coverings and pillow cases used in appointments will only be used for your session before being removed and washed.

-I will be wearing an FFP3 face covering throughout your session. I will be washing my hands even more frequently than usual and using hand sanitiser in the treatment room.

-The wider premises will be cleaned at the end of each day.

-Please ask if you would like to view my risk assessment or other COVID procedures.

More about face coverings/masks

-Due to the nature of the treatments I offer and room size it is not always possible to ensure a suitable distance.  Although masks do not stop you getting the virus if everyone coming into the premises wears a mask, we will greatly reduce the chances of people passing infection on to others and help to keep everyone safe. For this reason, I am continuing to wear a mask and to ask all clients to wear one for the duration of their session in order for the appointment to go ahead.

-You can bring your own mask or a complimentary disposable one will be provided.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and for all your help in implementing these procedures. I will do all I can to make you feel welcome and comfortable whenever you visit either of my premises and I look forward to seeing you very soon.
